How much will it cost?
How much your renovation project will cost is based on a variety of factors: Are you removing/adding a wall, moving plumbing and electric? The type of fixtures and materials (cabinets, vanities, faucets, appliances, flooring, etc.) all play into the cost of your project.
How long will my project take?
How long your renovation project will span depends on how much work needs to be done. Full kitchen renovations require many steps, from demoing your existing kitchen, potentially upgrading plumbing and electrical, rebuilding walls, drywall etc. before your new space comes to life, with new cabinets, flooring, backsplashes, appliances and paint. Basement Waterproofing FAQ
Why do basements leak?
There are many reasons why basements get water, here are just a few root causes:
- Poor basement floor and basement wall sealing
- Improperly installed drainage systems
- Old cinderblock construction or cracked foundation
- Underground water sources like springs
My walls get wet in the summer when it's very hot. What's the problem?
It could be condensation rather than leaking. When it gets very humid outside, basements can sweat because of temperature differences. It happens to cold water pipes, but can also happen on walls and floors in the basement or crawl space.
It only leaks in one area. Can I just fix that?
Sometimes this can be an option, but each basement is different. Likely though, water will move to where it can find space to fill and find another wall to fill. Best scenario is for us to come out and do a basement evaluation.
How do I know if I need structural repairs done to my basement?
When we come to do the free basement evaluation we will assess the structural integrity of your basement and inform you if you will need any structural repairs.
Should I be concerned with mold on my basement walls?
Mold on basement walls can be an indication of water trying to bully its way into your basement.
Can I use a waterproofing paint to fix water from coming into my basement?
Not usually. Waterproofing paints are designed to seal walls to prevent moisture from passing through which is different than preventing water from entering your basement. If water is coming into your basement you are likely looking at another option than waterproofing paint to solve the issue.
I never had water in my basement before, but all of a sudden I’ve noticed water coming into my basement. Why?
After about 20 years, homes are settled and need more maintenance and unfortunately more repairs. Original foundations can begin to crack or cinderblock walls begin to become saturated with water and water begins to find its way into the basement.
